Sweet and lowdown

The rain sings to me in the night.
A siren's song in the darkness
Sweet and lowdown

She wails
the midnight blues
in answer to my heart's desire
While Yearning
whistles ardently
around my house of dreams.

Tasting her anthem on my lips,
My tongue lovingly caresses
each familiar note.
Savoring the fevered pitch
of longing
as it rests in my mouth.
Familiar and enticing,
the dusky flavor
seduces me
as Want consumes me
once again.
